the architecture of beatific crashing

Posted in MP3

Icicles cracking off the brittle ends of palm trees, cyborg attendants smilelessly brushing off the shouldas as they hand you your hissing liquid. from the abandoned frozen deserts of the newly ancient “sundras” you track the decay of once shining and advanced structures as they pour down your eyes like rippling code. the sun now paints against the ruins a blinding white, the snow and metal in your eyes so hard you are surrounded, inside the birth of stars. you are two things. the first of these is
ESKMO.

ESKMO-HYPERCOLOR

in the four tracks on ESKMO’s outstanding HYPERCOLOR E.P. this bay area glaciater manages to stretch time into a languid, taffy funk, calmly wrenching synths into blurs left streaked against the sky, heaving and rotating the horizon underneath them with simple, almost new-wave arpeggios, all pinioned and gyrating on building, motoric drums. carved from an alien wood and bedded on a woven, distorted bass these four tracks play so seamlessly they initiate their own form of forever, a jungle of smeared, woozy crunk.

you are also a pool of insatiable echo. you can breathe underwater. in the bottom of the pool the pressure is edible, the ink has a motion undetected by the eye. at the surface the light flickers and grains, objects pixelate under focus and wave at the periphery. here you are ROUND BLACK GHOSTS v.2, and hordes are paddling after you as you predatorily lurk, with the patience of a canyon.

KONTEXT-BLINKENDE STJERNE

an eleven track cauldron of the ragged, steam-exhuming edges of the tears in berlin tech, jamaican dub and british steppers bass, this compilation preys upon the future, daring it to out-maneuver, hiding and surprising, toying and laughing, and ultimately enclosing it in its bottomless jaw.

eskmo hypercolor e.p. is out now on his own ANCESTOR label.
round black ghosts 2 is available on ~scape.
